According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) the rate of postpartum hemorrhage (PPH) per 10,000 delivery hospitalizations has continuously increased from 1993 through 2014. PPH was among the leading causes of maternal mortality between 2011 and 2016. This presentation will discuss data surrounding PPH in the United States, identification of risks for PPH and best practices for identifying at risk patients, mitigation strategies and current treatment recommendations from CDC and ACOG.
